Early 20th Century

 In 1901 Queen Victoria died.  She had  reigned for over 60 years and was  Queen of the biggest empire in history. During her time as Queen, the British Empire included Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and India. She was succeeded by her son Edward whose son George reigned during WW1.
